When Seedlip approached us at Active Matter to help them refresh their website and give them a more focussed content offering, we leapt at the chance.
A pleasing finish
We felt that Seedlip as a brand didn't have the feel to suit the product — particularly online. We set about remodelling their content, redesigning their home page, landing pages, and product pages, and tried to inject the brand with that feeling of it being something a little bit special. From directing photography to shaping the new tone of voice for the brand, we touched on pretty much everything.
To deliver this project, I led a team of developers based off-shore in Ukraine. These were highly skilled developers, but their primary experience was in React rather than VueJS. Thankfully, I have experience in both, so I was able to help them through the initial learning curve and with a few of the more complex challenges to solve. Whilst leading this development, I was working with the client to implement a new content model across their Contentful setup, which involved removing or recreating entire content types, across multiple translation languages. We made sure to split the content into a new environment to protect the existing live website and, when it came time for this project to go live, a simple switch was made and everything changed over without a hitch.
It is always rewarding to work on a project that touches so many parts of a business, but this one was particularly rewarding. The changes we made enabled Seedlip to go ahead and push their Christmas campaigns on line, which they weren't able to easily do before, and the campaigns proved to be a huge success.
The box of Seedlip goodies received as a thank you was a nice surprise, too!
